Well, it’s been a couple of months since I wrote anything and a lot has been happening in the dragon’s world. First off, back in Minnesota, our stay there was completed with a wonderful visit to Rush Creek Elementary School. The kids were a great audience (as are kids everywhere when dragons are concerned), the dragons were immensely popular and I sold almost a hundred books! One 5th grader came up to me and said “I always wanted to meet a real author!” And gave me a big hug before she hurried back to class. What a thrill! We all had a great time exploring what it takes to write a story, where you get your ideas and how you work with them to turn your story into a book. Being in Minnesota, of course they all had great ideas for a possible next dragon book about ice dragons living in the ice caves along Lake Superior. The sumi painting that I do at the end of my presentations was, as always, a great hit. I think the rooms at Rush Creek all had a sumi painting on their walls for a while!
